Diaryland died... Again

So. Diaryland died again. But I won't ever abandon it! I have so much stuff in there. Haha.

So um. Let's see. Friday. I collected my IC! [How cool is that? I finally have my IC!] And while at the ICA building I met Uncle Phillip and my cousin Caroline and her boyfriend! Now, Caroline is like my half cousin cos she's fully British. Cos Uncle Phillip married twice. And it was so cool to see her there. She was here to renew her PR status. [Of all places to meet her. Haha.] and she'll be here for the next 2 weeks I think. So yeah. Then I think I stayed at orchard for a while. but I didn't buy anything. So I came home. [I have my IC! Haha. I can't get over that.]

Friday night my parents left me home alone. [HELLYEAH! - That felt so good] And whoa. I was on the computer all night. And I was halfway through telling FuJack the funny Qi Xiang story [90 degrees! - Haha Sar] when Ben called me. I just realised how good a friend Ben is. He totally protected me from this pervy despo guy, even though I didn't listen to his warnings at first. So yeah. Thanks. Then we talked for like 3 hours until like midnight. [My longest ever on the phone was 6 hours. Heh. But this is my longest talking to a guy. I think.] When I was getting so sleepy. So I went to bed. And he went out to eat. Sheesh. Haha.

Saturday. I woke up. Went jogging with my brother to help train him for his NAPFA test coming in like 3 weeks time. He is so unfit. [Unlike me! :P] Haha. After like 400m he was panting away. So we really walked 1.2km. But then afterwards I ran [not jogged] another 1.4km. Or around there. 2 rounds around Mandarin Gardens. I'm so proud of myself. Haha. considering that I didn't exercise much this week, I suppose this was good for me. :P

Then I had a good, hearty breakfast of maggie mee [chicken flavored] washed down with a huge mug of milk, of the soy bean yeo's brand kind. :) Yum! Haha. So then I sat down to try and do some homework. Of which I failed. I am so terrible at focusing. Especially when I have all these horrible distractions like the tablet PC, the radio, my [very new] cellphone, lots of pens and even more blank paper. See how difficult it is for lil ol me to focus on my homework? Well, of course I got distracted. I mean you would too. And after all, it was still the school holidays. Haha. [Right now it's Sunday evening 7 pm. And I still have 4 more hours to complete my homework. What's the rush? Haha.] I did manage to get some of the language arts shit done. :P

Before I knew it, my mother was calling me to get changed to go to the Esplanade. [my new very favourite place!] We were going there for a poetry recital by Linton Kwesi Johnson. He is this Jamaican-British guy who invented "dub poetry" and I absolutely loved the way he read out his gorgeous poems. He read it out with the reggae beat. And I have completely fallen in love with dub poetry. I'll never be able to write that kind of poetry, or as a matter of fact, fully understand his poems, but I love love LOVE it! Haha. XD I am still in love with it, although I did fall asleep halfway through the recital. [I am so sorry LKJ. Haha. But I really was tired and I just couldn't help myself.] His voice is so deep, and so melodious, and so soothing, and so REGGAE! I mean even the way he talked sounded like a reggae song. but then again, that is what dub poetry is all about. :)

After the recital, there was an autograph session, and my dad brought his old LPs for LKJ to sign. He also bought the DVD and LKJ signed this CD for me. He signed "To Wendy, all the best, Linton Kwesi Johnson." How cool is that! [Ohman. i sound like a teenybopper, cept different. Haha. Cos this obsession is over an old guy.] :P And Uncle Lai Huat came for the autograph session too. Even though he didn't get tickets.

After that whole autograph session, we went onto the outside deck for a while to listen to the band playing outside. And they were pretty good I guess. [Although they would have sounded better if the lead singer hadn't opened his mouth.] Haha. And we took some pictures. Like the one which is currently my display picture on msn messenger. And there were some surveyors out there. There was this guy, he looked about 18 at the most. [Damn he was cute.] And he came to get me to do the survey. He asked me how old I was and when I told him, he didn't write anything down. Then I asked him "Aren't you supposed to write my age down too?" He said "Uh haha no need to write it down." Haha. So yeah. Then I did the survey about the Mosiac festival. And then he said "Oh yeah I need ur number." Then I was about to give it to him, when he took out his cellphone, AND MY MOTHER CAME ALONG! I was like **** it mommy! Sheeeesh. [btw, he was cute. And I mean cute! Haha.] So i had to leave with her.

[But then the next part gets slightly better.] We went to Marina Square for dinner at the food court. Then I find out we're going to RI for my father's and my uncle's reunion dinner. I was like whoa, okay I'll bet there are gonna be some guys my age there helping out. [But then it goes downhill] I find out it was a SCOUT'S reunion dinner. [What the hell?! Scouts are so ewww. Haha. Scouts are so not cute! That's the word] So anyway. We go to Raffles Institution at like 8 something at night. And guess what. I end up being the ONLY female in that hugeass hall. [In which there were about 150 males, and about 20 were scouts still in RI currently, and I must say the current batch of scouts are not good looking at all, not that the ones before were any better looking... Alright. So I have a thing against scouts okay?]

When I first entered the hall, like every single present day scout turned to stare. [And I was looking around, hoping to see some other female] So I just sat at the back with my mom and my brother. Then my mom left me and my brother alone to go talk to some other people she recognized. And my brother was reading his dumb Star Wars book. And meanwhile, there were scouts behind me, in their stupid green uniform of theirs [I have another thing against green alright? So I doubly despise scouts], and they were saying, in not very soft tones, "There there go ask la" and "You go la I'm chao shy" and luckily for me, Ben called! Haha. So I could leave the hall and go outside to talk to him. And the stinkin scouts followed me out. And they were saying the same things "You go ask la" and "No you ask". I hate it when guys do that you know? If you want the girls number go ask for it yourself. Don't you have the guts? [No gutted guys - Yeah I like the way it sounds.]

Anyway this guy came up to ask me for my number. and he was like my height. So I asked him how old he was. And guess what he told me?! He was sec 2! Haha. So I told him [My exact words] "well im sorry but i cant give it to you cos i think youre a bit too young." [And I totally emphasized the word young. Heh. I felt so good after that. Rejecting a guy does that to you.]Anyway. Do I not look at least 15? Why the hell did he come and ask me for my number. I mean, people have told me I looked 18! And strangers all think I'm at least 16. Did I look 14? I don't think so! I mean I was in my denim skirt with an off-shoulder shirt and I had my hair up and I was even wearing a lil bit of make-up! Sheesh. I would have thought I looked older. But I guess having my hair up made me look younger. I hope that's a good thing.

But then afterwards I was talking to some adults and some other still-scouts [only this time they were sec 4. I made sure.] And one of the guys I was talking to ended up being Gourie's dad! Haha. How cool is that?! I didn't know Gou's dad came from RI, much less that he was a scout. So they were selling this book for $25. And I was like bargaining with those scouts. I told those guys that if i could help them sell 3 other books, they should sell my dad the book at half price. and they were going to let me! But then the guy in charge came. Sheesh. [What is it with adults butting in at all the wrong times?] Haha. But I did get 3 other people to buy the book. then we went home. And that is all for Saturday.

Today! Sunday. I woke up when Ben messaged me. And my phone just happened to be next to my head. And it was not on silent. So yeah. He woke me up. It was like 11am though. I had a full 12 hours of sleep. I havn't had that in like almost 3 weeks I think. And I'm so glad for the holidays. I did a teensy bit more homework. Then we went out for lunch at The Banana Leaf Apolo at Little India. Damn. the lunch was HOT. Haha. [HOT meaning: 1. spicy. 2. good. 3. temperature-hot.] And we walked around a bit. Then we went to Orchard. I went to popular and bought the translated version of The Merchant of Venice. I so could not understand Elizabethan English. I needed the translation. And it is so unfair that the VS guys all did this book last year. I fully intend to ask someone from VS for notes. Then we came home. And I'm here!

So that was my wonderfully spent last 3 days of the march holidays. Tata!
